Alexandra Petridou, BA, MSc, PhDConstantia Hadjidemetriou

BACKGROUND
Alexandra completed her undergraduate studies in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Athens where she obtained her BA in 2000 with Distinction. Her undergraduate studies were funded by the Cyprus Government. Between 2000 and 2002 she worked as a primary school teacher under the employment of the Ministry of Education in Cyprus. She undertook postgraduate studies in 2002/2003 at the University of Manchester where she was awarded the degree of M.Sc. in Educational Research with Distinction. Recently she has finished her doctoral studies at the School of Education at the University of Manchester. Her Ph.D thesis is entitled ‘Identifying, modelling and explaining person misift’. Her doctoral studies were funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the University of Manchester and the A.G. Leventis Foundation. Currently she is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Education at the University of Manchester.

Research Interests:
Person-fit, educational measurement, assessment, multilevel models, Rasch, quantitative and qualitative research, mathematics, UK national curriculum, statistical literacy.
