The Pilot Survey

The pilot phase of our survey took place during the previous academic year (2005-2006). Questionnaires were sent to colleges during April 2006 and data collection was completed in mid- summer.  Even though the timing was not very helpful in order to achieve a good response rate, we received completed questionnaires from a total of 356 students, coming from 21 different colleges around UK. This sample was enough to allow us to validate our instruments for use in the main study.
