Classroom Practices in Mathematics that Make a Difference to Student Engagement: Conference Series for 2006-07
1. Mathematical Learner Identities in Practice Friday 13th October, 2006
- Mathematical learner identities: you are invited to consider the cases of Kirsty, Lee, Darfor, and Tammy. What kind of classroom and institutional experiences do you think have influenced and informed their ‘narratives of identity’ or dispositions towards mathematics learning?
- The case study research. A lesson is analysed as ‘classroom practices’ interwoven with a mathematical narrative’.
2. Widening Participation – reports of results in progress Friday 16th February, 2007
- Working conference with opportunities to explore and discuss early results from the questionnaire study and emerging ideas from case studies.
3. AS Maths Curriculum impact on teaching and learning Friday 15th June, 2007
- Following the completion of data collection this conference will provide an opportunity to explore emerging findings including those relating to classroom practices from case study colleges.
